Dr. Cheick Modibo Diarra serves as the Chairman, Healthcare Self-Reliance of the Bio Investments Group in Africa. As such he championns the company’s efforts to accelerate vaccines, biolgics and in-vitro diagnostics self-sufficiency in the continent. Dr. Modibo Diarra is a global renowned figure in the fields of science, technology, and leadership. His accomplishments as a scientist were marked by groundbreaking research and innovation. His work in aerospace engineering, remote sensing, and space exploration led to numerous advancements in satellite technology. He contributed significantly to the development of NASA's Mars Pathfinder mission, playing a pivotal role in the historic landing of the Sojourner rover on the Martian surface in 1997.
Beyond his contributions to the scientific community, Dr. Diarra's leadership and dedication to socio-economic development in Africa are remarkable. He served as the Prime Minister of Mali from April 2012 to December 2012, during a crucial period in the country's history. His leadership was marked by a commitment to stability, democratic governance, and national unity.
Dr. Diarra's serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and as a Special Envoy for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Dr Diarra is Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Paris, France, a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Howard University in the United States.
